(review) Odyrmos-Eternal Sleep

Odyrmos have their debut album out and it was about time to listen and review it for this zine. Hailing from Greece, Odyrmos play dark ambient music with black metal and dungeon synth influences, vibe and attitude. There are five songs on this record. The Dearest Of Desires takes me to the dark and lonely road through the woods as thunder and lightning rips the sky, with wicked melody creating nice ominous atmosphere. Under Your Suicidal Spell starts more in a dark ambient style, yet evolves into dungeon synth heavy and atmospheric, almost ritualistic melody to keep you on the edge of your sanity. I love the use of child˙s voices making goosebumps on my skin. Drowning In Bleeding Tears is a bit longer, starts as ambiental droning but I really am amazed how many horror vibes and different spooky melodies can Odyrmos provide, with this song being one of my absolute highlights on the record. Peaceful Death with birds singing, gentle hummed melody, reminded me of a quiet resting place, grave in the forest under some great big tree. Feast Of The Grand Whore is a cover of another Greek legends and one of the most important extreme metal bands to come out of the Greece, namely Rotting Christ. This is superb record for us fans of such music.
